Pooja Flowers Recycling Initiative

The Faridabad Municipal Corporation launched a new eco-friendly initiative to recycle pooja flowers and religious waste instead of dumping them into drains and water bodies. The project aims to reduce pollution, prevent waterlogging, and encourage sustainable waste practices across temples and residential areas. Dedicated bins have been placed to ensure proper segregation of floral waste from general garbage. The collected flowers are processed into compost, incense sticks, and other useful products, promoting a circular economy. Officials partnered with Victoria Life Foundation to manage the recycling operations. Residents’ welfare associations and temple committees are being encouraged to participate actively. This initiative is expected to reduce the environmental burden caused by religious waste. Authorities believe it will help keep city drains clean during festive seasons. Awareness campaigns are also being conducted to educate citizens. The step reflects Faridabad’s growing focus on eco-friendly urban management.
